- (Witness) Obituary: She was mentioned in the Obituary of Hugh Geddes seaman master merchant service on 29 December 1886 at Aberdeen, Scotland, ; DEATH OF AN ABERDEENSHIRE SEA-CAPTAIN.
Captain Hugh Geddes, a native of Aberdeenshire, and a retired sea-captain, living at South View House, Cullercoats, Newcastle, died last Friday at his residence, at the age of sixty years. Deceased served his apprenticeship with the Aberdeen Steam Navigation Company, and afterwards was in the employ of the Leith and Clyde Shipping Company for about sixteen years. He made some very smart passages as captain of the "Fairy," running the mails between Shetland and Aberdeen. He was well-known in the North of Scotland for his courteous and obliging manner, and was greatly esteemed by all who came in contact with him. He was last in the service of the Tyne Steam Shipping Co.-at first afloat and afterwards on land.
