  • (Witness) Memorial Inscription: He is commemorated on the headstone erected by Alexander Nicoll in 1882 at Balgay Cemetery, Dundee, Forfarshire, Scotland. Inscription reads Sacred to the memory of Elisabeth Roberts wife of Alexander Nicoll who died 8th June 1882 aged 65 years; John S Nicoll son of the above died 26th November 1879 aged 34; Isobel, Alice, George, James, Peter all died young; The above Alexander Nicoll died 5th January 1884 aged 68 years; also Catherine Downie beloved wife of David R Nicoll who died 23rd April 1885; also the said David R Nicoll who died 14th February 1901 aged 46 years and his second wife Barbara Smith who died 1st December 1926 aged 69 years.4
