Inscription reads Erected by J H Milne in memory of his father Alexander Milne patternmaker born 22nd June 1806 died 19th July 1861. Ann Hodge spouse of Alexander Milne born 15th February 1806 died 29th September 1862. Alexander Milne junr, engineer born 12 September 1839 died 12th July 1888 interred in Waverley Cemetery Sydney Australia.

  • Note for Web*: Jeannie Milne was a wealthy and eccentric spinster who liked to jaunt all over the UK and the European Continent. She was found brutally murdered in Nov 1912, about three weeks after the deed was done. The case was widely reported nationally, and locally in immense detail. Although a man was arrested, he was never brought to trial and her murderer has never been apprehended..
