Parish Church
Two well-known Perthshire families were united by a wedding in Dundee Parish Church (St Mary's) to-day.
The bride was Miss Gladys Dickson, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. G. Dickson, The Elms, Meigle. Her groom was Mr David Adamson, eldest son of the late Mr J. R. Adamson and of Mrs Adamson, Marfield, Blairgowrie.
The bride was given away by her father and the ceremony was conducted by Rev.
Dr J. H Duncan, assisted by Rev. Hugh Climie and Rev. R. B. Hastie, Blairgowrie.
Angelskin silver lame made a beautiful gown for the bride. The fitted bodice had a heart-shaped neckline and the full skirt lay over a Victorian hooped petticoat.
Bows of the material finished with sprays of orange blossom caught up the skirt in front to reveal an underskirt of finely pleated net. Orange blossom and silver beads composed the headdress from which cascaded the fine net veil. Gold roses and lily of the valley formed her bouquet.
Organdi dresses were worn by the three bridesmaids and the trainbearer. The little girl, Rosemond Dickson, was a dainty figure in sprigged white organdi. She wore a bracelet of fresh spring flowers toning with her headdress.
The bridesmaids were Misses Edith Thomson, Yvonne Dickson and Margaret Shanks. Their picture gowns were in yellow, pink and blue respectively, and the colour of their dresses predominated in their head-dresses and bouquets of mixed spring flowers.
Best man was Mr Jack Adamson, brother, and ushers were Messrs William B. Adamson, John A. Young. Stanley Sim and Hugh Dickson.
The reception was held in Kidd’s Rooms.1,4,5 - [S40] CAR via FaceBook Adamson Group [Nov 2014].
