  • (Deceased) Death*: Jane Johnson died in 1879 at Middlesex Hospital, Fitzrovia, London, Middlesex, England, , She had cancer of the uterus. At the time of her husband’s death, Jane spent time in the Marylebone Workhouse (1870-onwards), possibly with her two youngest children Robert and Jane Ann.1

My granny said that Robert never spoke of his London origins and made out that his parents were killed in a train crash and he grew up in an orphanage!1
