  • Anecdote*: Ella (Helen) married Sam Evans who was with the submarines during the war. They had no children. Helen lived with Mary Nay during the war years. After the war, Sam and Helen moved to London and had a flat in St John’s Wood. A male relative (of Ella's) would look after her whilst her husband was away (where?) and this person inherited the flat upon Ella's death in 2008. (Is this the cousin in London?) But she died at South Grange Nursing Home in Monifieth and Margaret doesn’t know how or why she ended up there when she had lived much of her life in London.2
