After banns according to the forms of the Church of Scotland. Marriage pledged on the 15th June 1862.
    Married by Francis Johnstone, Minister of Osnaburgh Street, Independent Chapel, Forfar. Witnesses - Robert Johnston and Margaret Lowe. Registered on the 24th June 1862 at Forfar, Registrar John Webster. James Waddell was at East High Street.1

Her parents were William Doig, linen weaver, deceased, and Betsy Cable, deceased. Cause of death as certified by George C Burgess M.D. was Chronic Bronchitis and Cardiac Disease. Her death was registered at Forfar on the 23rd January 1924 by her son James, Registrar was John F Craik.1

  • Note for Web: She Ann had an illegitimate daughter in 1857. On 4th Jan 1858 Ann appeared before the Forfar Kirk Session and accused Frederick Thom, Mason, South Loan, who acknowledged that the child was his (Book of Discipline) on 4 January 1858.1
