[missing info probably ‘Dear Dad’] & Ma,
Since writing you a few days [missing probably ‘ago’] I have received another letter from you – no26. It came out in record time, only taking 6 days to reach me from the date of posting. It makes one almost feel that home is not so far away when letter come out so quickly. Many thanks for fixing that transfer of money to Calcutta, Dad. Today I had notification from the bank that it had arrived. Yesterday I received a letter from Joan thanking me for a food parcel I sent her some time ago. She seems to be very cheery and is still maintaining her sense of humour. Also got a batch of Journals & C[ ] the other day one containing a sprig of white heather. Many thanks! Hope it will bring me some luck as far as early repatriation is concerned.

I wrote Jimmie the other day – I have lost his address. I think it was 711 GT Co RASC. In any case I sent the letter to you for forwarding. Any word from him recently?
