    Mrs Jane Webster Mackay, proprietor of the Birse Lodge Hotel, Aboyne, died to-day. She was sixty-three.
    She was the widow of Mr Lewis Mackay, who was well known in Aberdeen business circles, having been formerly manager of the Douglas Hotel and "mine host" at the Bon-Accord Hotel.
    Since going to Aboyne twenty-one years ago. Mrs Mackay had become a patron of sporting activities in the area, and was always closely associated with every movement pertaining to the welfare of the village.
    She was president of Aboyne Bridge Club.
    She leaves a family of three sons and one daughter -- Mr Lewis Mackay, director of Profeit's Hotel, Dinnet: Dr John K. Mackay. Middlesbrough the well-known Northeast of Scotland and Yorkshire golfer: Mr Kenneth Mackay, The Boat Inn, Aboyne, and Mrs Sheila Peel, Manchester. on 17 August 1954.8
