    Scouts from the Aberdeen Grammar School, North London and Aboyne Troops were present at the funeral yesterday to Aboyne Churchyard of Master Douglas Mackay, son of Mr and Mrs Lewis Mackay Birse Lodge Hotel, who was drowned near his home on Friday afternoon.
    The coffin was carried by the Grammar School Scouts from his home to the grave.
    The services at the house and the grave were conducted by the Rev. A Wishart. Aboyne.
    The principal mourners were: M Lewis Mackay (father) and Messrs Lewis A Mackay and John Mackay (brothers).

    The engagement is announced of Miss Philippa Saunders Sellars (daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Sellars, of Highgate, Cleethorpes) and Dr. J. K. Mackay, M.D. C.H.B. (second son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Mackay, of Aboyne, Aberdeenshire).
    Miss Sellars is the well-known Cleethorpes dancer. She appeared before the King and Queen at the Palladium, and is at present engaged in the pantomime "Puss in Boots " at Newcastle.
    Dr. Mackay is a graduate of Aberdeen University, where he took a prominent part in sport, obtaining a full blue for golf. The wedding is to take place shortly. on 28 December 1939.5

    Mrs Jane Webster Mackay, proprietor of the Birse Lodge Hotel, Aboyne, died to-day. She was sixty-three.
    She was the widow of Mr Lewis Mackay, who was well known in Aberdeen business circles, having been formerly manager of the Douglas Hotel and "mine host" at the Bon-Accord Hotel.
    Since going to Aboyne twenty-one years ago. Mrs Mackay had become a patron of sporting activities in the area, and was always closely associated with every movement pertaining to the welfare of the village.
    She was president of Aboyne Bridge Club.
    She leaves a family of three sons and one daughter -- Mr Lewis Mackay, director of Profeit's Hotel, Dinnet: Dr John K. Mackay. Middlesbrough the well-known Northeast of Scotland and Yorkshire golfer: Mr Kenneth Mackay, The Boat Inn, Aboyne, and Mrs Sheila Peel, Manchester.8
